10th Anniversary of the Trail of Tears motorcycle ride.

The ride started assembling at 5:00 am eastern time on River front Parkway in Chattanooga Tennessee. Motorcycles arrived in large numbers from all over the United States for this one day ride.

Dick Landess one of the organizers and also one of the original 8 rider from when the event started ten years ago said, "This is the largest organized 1 day event in southeast." He also said that they expect over 100,00 people to show up.

The one day ride stretches from Chattanooga to Waterloo, which is over 200 miles.

Dick Landess also had the honor of welcoming celebrity Branscombe Richmond. Mr. Richmond has been the Grand Marshall of this event twice in the past and he said he was honored to be here.

Mr. Branscombe Richmond said he had traveled from Las Vegas all the way back to Los Angeles so he could pack his things and come to Chattanooga and ride to Waterloo in the event.

Mendy Smith said she came to the ride today, all the way from Dickson Tennessee, to try to catch the spirit. Miss Smith also said her mother was one of the folks that walk the trial.

The ride kicked off without a hitch at 8:00 am eastern time. The motorcycles rode two by two down Highway 41, headed for Waterloo Alabama.
